About the Business
On Sunday 11th May, over 50 juniors and adults took part in the first annual KSKC Berkshire interclub competition aged from just 4 years old up to adult members. The event has traditionally been hosted in Kent, but made a successful move to Wokingham this May. The competition which featured displays, Kata and Kumite events, represented Silwood Park Karate's inclusive approach to instruction with categories for all ages and a new nurture Kata category for children and adults with special needs. In this category, Mark Savage stole the show with his performance of Heian Sandan in the Adult nurture group whilst Charlie Shipman (13) earned Silver representing the children's nurture group. Sensei Gillian Rose(2nd Dan) was delighted with the performances in this group saying "We do not believe there should be barriers for anyone in life, especially in Karate and the success today highlights that anything is possible."
