About the Business
We provide a variety of martial arts training and practice to people of all ages, including young children. Our courses aim to increase self confidence and promote health and fitness within the community.
Universal Martial Arts was formed in 1998 at Ouseburn Community Centre, with lessons only twice a week. In May 2005, I decided I wanted to take my love of martial arts and teaching to be my main job, I visited large martial arts schools around the UK to see how they were run, and also attended many seminars for teacher training, from some of the best professionals from around the world, learning child psychology and the protocol used for teaching children to build their confidence and self esteem.
Since 2005, Universal Martial Arts School has grown and grown, we moved to new, full-time premises on Heaton Road, and again in September 2009 moved to our current 3500sq ft studio which is now the largest martial arts school in the north east.
