About the Business
The Kanzenki Shotokan Karate Club was formed in September 2007 by Sensei Lindsey Musing and came under the tutelage of Sensei Peter Wright (Zanshin Ryu Goju-Kai) to help get us off the ground. Our first dojo was at the Dormansland Memorial Hall and we were affiliated with the Amateur Martial Association (AMA).
We were also regularly visited by Sensei Flood (5th Dan) of the Bradford Karate Club, and we moved with him from the AMA to the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO), as well as moving our dojo to Imberhorne School in East Grinstead.
As we already looked to Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa as our standard for kata, in October 2013 we joined Shotokan Karate Kanazawa Ryu International Federation (SKKIF), the UK arm of Sensei Kanazawa's Tokyo-based Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF). The Chief Instructor and Chairman of SKIFF is Kyoshi Roger Carpenter. As well as visits from Kyoshi Carpenter, we also attend courses instructed by Kancho Nobuaki Kanazawa (6th Dan).
