The leading Dirty Boxing instructor in the UK, Kelina Cowell is the Founder and Chief Instructor of Apolaki Dirty Boxing, Apolaki Krav Maga, Apolaki Self Defence and Co-Founder of Apolaki SPD: Self Protection for Dwarfs. Daughter of a 29 British Army Commando, CQC and Firearms Instructor, Kelina Cowell grew up on a military base in Dortmund, Germany. Inspired by training with her father from an early age, she continued her combative journey into Wado Ryu Karate and then Muay Thai. After sustaining perminant injuries at 16 years old, which left her unable to walk for a year, she decided to retire from Muay Thai and after 18 months of physiotherapy she started training in Filipino Martial Arts, Krav Maga, Submission Wrestling and Pencak Silat.
I don't let anything stop me from doing what I want to do. I have a spinal condition, asthma and a perminant knee injury. My doctors told me I would never be able to do martial arts, let alone become an instructor.
